ABOUT THE SHOW
Work vs. Play is a fun, clever, and surprisingly relatable winter guard production about the everyday battle between structure and freedom. Written for Sch A with a 4:25 performance time, the show uses chairs as smart, versatile props and a split floor design to bring the tension of work/life balance vividly to life. On one side: order, routine, responsibility, and the rigid demands of the workday. On the other: movement, imagination, release, and the irresistible pull of play. As the performers shift between these two worlds, Work vs. Play creates a playful visual tug-of-war that is both challenging and instantly audience-friendly. It is sharp, energetic, and full of personality — a show that reminds us all that sometimes the hardest work is learning how to let go.
