ABOUT THE SHOW
Behind the glittering walls of imperial Russia’s Winter Palace, beauty and power exist in fragile balance. Set against a world of falling snow, royal ceremony, and frozen grandeur, this production follows a palace alive with celebration, memory, and myth. Shostakovich’s Festive Overture opens the gates with dazzling pageantry, while Fire of Eternal Glory reveals the sacred flame at the heart of the palace: a symbol of sacrifice, remembrance, and the lives hidden beneath the empire’s splendor. As the storm grows, the palace becomes more than a place. It becomes a crown, a monument, and a world struggling to endure its final winter. In the thunderous finale of Symphony No. 5, the palace rises one last time in breathtaking triumph, even as ice, fire, and history close in around it.
The Winter Palace is a story of majesty, memory, and the haunting beauty of an empire preserved forever in snow.
